Explore The Equipment used at Vancouver's Oakview Dental

Modern dental equipment currently employed at Vancouver's Oakview Dental, in addition to the state-of-the-art technology described in our Vancouver dental care services section, includes:

CEREC One-visit Dentistry

CEREC AC is one of the most advanced products in world dentistry, with over 16 million restorations worldwide. The CEREC can simultaneously design and mill, enabling the dentist to prepare perfectly fitted ceramic restorations in one patient visit, with huge savings in time.  Single or multicolored blocks of ceramic material are converted into beautifully fitting inlays, onlays, partial crowns, full anterior and posterior crowns bridges or veneers. The final result is indistinguishable from a healthy, natural tooth and crowning is often unnecessary, because healthy tooth material can be saved due to the use of adhesive technology.  Adhesive bonding techniques with rapid production of all-ceramic inlays, onlays, partial crowns, veneers bridges and crowns for anterior and posterior regions. This results in a unique combination creating biocompatible, non-metallic, natural looking restorations from durable high-quality ceramic materials, in a single treatment session, and without the need for temporaries and minimal or no post-treatment sensitivity.

Rotary Endodontics (Root canals)

Root canal treatments are more easily accomplished today than ever before, using mechanical instrumentation with rotary nickel titanium instruments. With this technique, after thorough anaesthesia, the nerve tissue in the canals of the roots of teeth can be rapidly removed. The canals are sterilized, dried and sealed in much less time than with hand instrumentation. Most treatments are completed in one office visit with little or no post-operative pain.

Ultrasonic Scalers

Ultrasonic periodontal therapy is a long-standing technology, its effectiveness well-rooted in research. Used by both periodontists and hygienists, its most effective features are its clinical efficiency and patient comfort. Many newer models now come with a boost mode to get at the toughest calculus and stain.

Intraoral Digital Dental Cameras

This camera is used to enable patients to see photos of teeth requiring treatment. These photos also accompany any insurance claims.

Digital Radiography

Full digital "x-ray" examination.  No longer do we use chemicals to develop dental films. Due to the extreme sensitivity of the capturing medium, there is a substantial reduction in the amount of radiation that is necessary to achieve high quality, diagnostic images.
